12th August sees the start of the shooting season for Red Grouse, the first of the British game birds to start their open seasons. Partridge season begins on September 1st with Woodcock and Pheasant starting on 1st October.
So, it’s time to start thinking how you will cook delicious grouse, will it be roasted with celeriac or pan-fried? Send us your favourite dishes and we will add to the website. |
2.Mark Hix & Ben Weatherall Game evening – 16 Sept 2009

Ben Weatherall of Yorkshire Game will be talking to guests about all things game at the Masterclass on 16th September from 7pm at the Hix Fish House in Lyme Regis, Dorset.
You will learn about and taste the many types of game and enjoy a three course game supper prepared by Mark Hix and his team.

The restaurant should showcase seasonal produce, have a good selection of game on the menu and be prepared to be interviewed for the feature.
