Stuart Blackman, of The Country Bumpkin is passionate about wild food and his enthusiasm for supporting wild British produce including game has been recognised after being nominated as a finalist for Gary Rhodes Local Food Heroes award for the East Anglian region.

The Country Bumpkin hosts seasonal foraging days where you can learn about shooting, preparing and cooking wild game as well as many other wild culinary delights. Wild Food Nights are organised throughout the year at Red Lion in Woolmer Green. The menu includes 6 wild food dishes, 2 starters, 2 mains & 2 Desserts, using local wild produce that has been caught and foraged, such as Venison Pie & Wild Goose Casserole. At the local farmer market, you will also find Stuart rustling up ‘pigeon sausage bap’ in The Country Bumpkin Cafe.
